Girl's Weekend

Fedora (similar here)  /  Sunglasses (similar here)  /  Blouse  /  Maxi Dress (similar here and loving this one and the pleats on this one)

Over a week ago, I took a VERY well needed vacation promptly insisted by my mother. Obviously, I was not about to turn down a trip to temperatures above freezing! For the most part, we kept work and technology to a minimum on this trip, and instead spent most of our time embracing the outdoors (which was totally fine by me, have you seen how green it is down there?). However; on our last day my sister insisted I photograph at least one outfit, which brings me here! I have actually worn this outfit previously in this past fall, and who says you can't wear it again in April? Don't ever be afraid to recycle an outfit or take a well-needed break, I know I'm not!

Liebster Award!

When I noticed that the Jen of PaperBeauty nominated me for a Liebster Award I was beyond excited! Simply put, it’s a nice way to share the support and get to know fellow bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It made my day when Jen got in touch and I thought I would pass on the love as well!

1. What is on your bucket list?

The list goes on forever, but one thing on my bucket list I aspire to do in the future would to potentially run my own business.

2. What made you start blogging?

It was a combination of a lot of things, not just one. I actually took notice of vlogging before blogging and decided, after seeing many different blogs, that I would like to blog myself.

3. You can take three beauty products with you to a desert island. What do you take?

I would take soap (germaphobe), sunscreen (no need for burns, those things hurt!), and aloe vera (because I’m a little forgetful every now and then).

4. What’s the last film you saw?

Divergent just a few days ago, good movie!

5. Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night Owl, you can ask anyone who’s been around me in the morning and they will agree I am NOT a morning person!

6. If you could only eat one kind of food (Italian, Mexican, Chinese…) for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Chocolate. It’s rich and delicious, really, what’s better than that?

7. Who is your favorite blogger/vlogger?

Julia Engel of Gal MeetsGlam. She captures the perfect combination of simple chic and over-the-top glamour in ever ensemble. I love how she doesn’t really have a definite style as she always throws in an edgier outfit to a week of feminine outfits. She’s amazing!

8. What’s the best advice that you’ve ever received?

Do what you do when you procrastinate, for a living.

9. What’s your favorite book and why?

Oh this one is a toughie. I would have to choose Where the Red Fern Grows because it was the first book that moved me to the point of tearing up while reading it – and if that isn’t an indication of a good book I wouldn’t know what is!

10. What is your dream job?

Doing this right here (:

11. Have you ever met anyone famous? If yes, who? If no, whom would you most want to meet? (I’m giving you options here!)

I don’t know if this counts, but I saw Bruno Mars a few years ago when I was on one of those Hollywood “Tour of the Stars Homes” bus rides. He was shirtless and scrumptious.

Now, for my nominees! I’ve based this off of bloglovin. I apologize if I got confused and you have more than 200 followers and I nominated you, my mistake, but I like your blog!

Caroline at Modern Romantic

Allison at Sweet Madame Blue

Nikola at Beauty Bubble

Victoria at I Heart Fashion

Now, here are my questions for my lovely nominees:

1)    If you could do anything in the world, what would you do?

2)   If you had the choice to move ANYWHERE, where would you go and why?

3)   How did you decide on what to name your blog?

4)   What is your go-to look?

5)    What is your blog about?

6)   Glass half empty or half full?

7)    What is your favorite accessory?

8)   What is your favorite quote?

9)   When life gives you lemons…

10)  What is the number one thing you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?

11)   What is your favorite song/band/singer?

I'd love to read everyone's answers if you chose to accept!

Swim Season

Top - Bottom

"She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini..." Does anyone else have that song burned into their memory? I remember the first time hearing that song I instantly felt compelled to go out and buy a yellow polka dot bikini - I was a pretty impressionable child. I guess the same thing holds true to this day, but within a different form of technology - the internet. Just scrolling through my Pinterest feed I see thousands of Spring style and bikini pins and can't help but feel an instant need to own it and for the items to show up in my closet (a girl can dream, right?). Above I posted some of the bikinis I've been falling in love with and looking into purchasing myself, hopefully there's one you find you like up there too!

Transition Denim

As Spring finally decides to heat up, our wardrobes are thrown for a loop trying to suit the unstable weather patterns. Just take yesterday for example - we reached over 60 degrees to find out in 2 days we'll be seeing snow again. So much for that pair of shorts I spent 2 hour trying to find and break out of my closet. With unexpected temperatures fluctuating, I find overalls EXTREMELY generous in not only their heat but also their versatility in the wardrobe department - those things go with anything and everything - they can take a sweatshirt and jeans to the next level, who knew that was even possible?

As of now, however; we're stuck in the awkward phase of Spring; sometimes too hot for pants but not quite hot enough for shorts. We're in the transition stage of the season which means we should probably stock up on at least one pair of denim in the most important 3 lengths - Long, cropped, and short. Below I've compiled a list of some of my favorite denim trends for the upcoming season, so go ahead and shop to your hearts content.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Gone Girl Novel  /  Fuji Camera  /  Wiener Dog Oil and Vinegar Set  /  Wooden Bowls  /  Unconditional Love Shower Gel  /  Schwinn Bike (20% off with Cartwheel by Target!)  /  Polka Dot Potholder  / Spotted Dinner Set  /  Hanging Candle Lantern  /  Floral Pillow (on sale!)  / UGG Slippers (ship next day for Mother's Day!)  /  Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight Perfume  /  Cherry Red Bare Minerals Lip Stick

With Mother's Day on the tip of our noses we're all searching for what to buy the most beloved person in our lives. I know when most people think of Mother's Day gifts they think clothes and jewelry to show their appreciation, don't get me wrong, I love that! But my mother was never one to fawn over a nice dress or piece of jewelry, she was more interested in functional items for everyday use. Which is great for me because when it comes to gifts, I love to give versatile pieces; something the receiver can use over and over again (and think of my love for them when they do!). I also love to give based on what I loved myself or found a perfect fit for them, like the above pictured red lip (read any of my past posts, I've mentioned my love for it too many times to count!), anything UGG (their sheepskin makes it feel like you're literally walking on clouds, and who doesn't love that?), and the absolutely adorable, can't-pass-these-up Wiener Dogs! In the end, just remember it's truly the thought that counts; with my Mother it was never the gift that had the most lasting impact, but the card I always handmade for her and still do to this very day.

Just gift with love and good intentions.

Au Revoir, Winter

Au Revoir Tee / Blazer (similar here) / Grey Sweatpants (Similar here) / Franco Sarto Oxford Loafers (pictured here as well) / Oscar De La Renta Aviator Sunglasses (similar here)

Hooray, it’s finally Spring! Although, it doesn’t quite feel like it yet with the snow continuing to fall, what gives? As the temperature begins to rise, however; the layers begin to shed and white becomes even more of a closet staple than it was this past winter. And as you can see, I’m a firm believer in the fact that sweatpants are in fact wearable outside of the house *with the right accessories. Personally, as you’ll see in an upcoming post, even pajamas (I can see the look of horror on your faces already!) are wearable outside of the house! I have a simple equation to get you through it – blazer, your raddest shoes, and some sunglasses, a hat or any other simple accents to complete your comfy yet chic looking ensemble. And there you have it! (You’re welcome, ladies).

Currently Craving #3: Spring Hats

Hats are such an overlooked piece of an ensemble, not only are they an accessory but, like sunglasses, they are a finishing touch that can complete a look to its utmost perfection. With this being said, I thought I'd help in the process of finding the perfect "finishing touch" for you, and what better time than before a big trip to purchase one?

A lady can never go wrong with a big, feminine bow - 'Fancy' Bow Hat

Wide brimmed, floppy, AND striped? Need I say more? - Packable Sun Hat

An adorable blast-from-the-past style hat never hurt a women - Hat With Ribbon

Now has anyone ever said standing in was fun? - Cobalt Blue Fedora

None other than the classic cream fedora - Panama Hat

Boat hats and wide-legged pants? Win win - Straw Boater Hat

Personally, I'd buy anything in this gorgeous rusty red - Matador Hat

Beanie-style take on the bohemian turban - Slouchy Beanie

Can you tell I'm infatuated with brimmed hats a little bit? What's YOUR favorite hat style?
