Hooray, it’s finally Spring! Although, it doesn’t quite feel like it yet with the snow continuing to fall, what gives? As the temperature begins to rise, however; the layers begin to shed and white becomes even more of a closet staple than it was this past winter. And as you can see, I’m a firm believer in the fact that sweatpants are in fact wearable outside of the house *with the right accessories. Personally, as you’ll see in an upcoming post, even pajamas (I can see the look of horror on your faces already!) are wearable outside of the house! I have a simple equation to get you through it – blazer, your raddest shoes, and some sunglasses, a hat or any other simple accents to complete your comfy yet chic looking ensemble. And there you have it! (You’re welcome, ladies).

Travel Wear

Just recently (as in around a couple hours ago!) I received word that my mother, sister, and I were going to be taking a girls weekend trip! You couldn't even imagine how happy I was to know I'd be getting out of this swirling bi-polar vortex! One of first thoughts I had being a fashion blogger was that I needed to get my wardrobe in check, especially for the flight out which always seems to be the hardest look for me to master (I usually wake up late and roll out of bed in whatever I'm wearing, don't shake your head at me I assume you've tried it too!). But this time I've promised myself it will be different as I think I may have the look down to a science: LAYERS! The more, the better. As you'll see above, I found many looks with just that concept in mind; the layers usually consist of a scarf, some kind of cardigan, a jacket, comfortable shoes (I don't think I could run around the airport in heels knowing how I have a habit of being late!), and small, simple accessories to bring the whole look together. Sounds do-able, right?

On Spring Break one of the most essential things you can pack (other than sunscreen and aloe!) is a pair of decent sunglasses. And My Celebrity Style Crush Is...

Miranda Kerr’s style is known for making the impossible look possible – for instance making leather pants look comfortable, or a calf hair tote looking like just another casual handbag. She even made a jean jacket look preppy. You see what I’m getting at here? She has the profound ability to take everyday simple “lazy” pieces and make them into extraordinarily simple yet elegant ensembles – hence, I am obviously in love with her style.

The problem I always run into with loving her wardrobe though, is the cost – just one piece of her garb ends up costing more than I would spend on an entire outfit. I also know of many others running into this same exact problem, which brought me here...

Currently Craving #1: Sensible Spring Shoes

Heels are a beautiful thing. But being a student and all, it's often impractical to wear heels - let alone on a regular basis. When I'm older, I cannot wait to wear heels daily! As for now, however; I have to look for other practical means of getting around, while remaining in style of course! I adore beautifully crafted flats and sandals, so odds are I'll never be caught dead in a pair of flip-flops - my sister has even tried and I won't budge - no flip-flops for me! Thus, here are a few of some of my favorite Spring flats - easy on the eyes, and the wallet! Bear with me as I know the color scheme variations are pretty boring - I still can't find it in my heart to buy a pair of shoes that I will get a minimal amount wear out of!

Why the cold, sunshine?

This past month has been a rigid unwelcoming one, making the cravings for summer all the more unrelenting. With the past few weeks of extreme cold and cabin fever coming in full gear, I crave the heat of summer more than ever. But not only the heat, the vibrant color, the glowing tans, and the seemingly endless laughter that comes alone with heat, a good time, and great friends.

I got lost in thought and found myself brooding over past and upcoming summers, which got me to thinking, what would I wear? Say summer starts suddenly, temperatures starts to rise, or I just take a spontaneous early Spring Break? I took the opportunity to get lost in my summer dream, which brings me to my post today, 2014 Summer/Spring Break style. It’s never too early to plan, right?

As you can see, right now I’m craving pastel hues, and a touch of vibrancy. I’ve never been a big go-getter for vibrant colors, but there some days I feel impulsive enough to give it a go. And why not let 2014 be the year of trying out the unimaginable? I know in many cases doing just that brought me into many blissful situations.

In the summer I am also always fixated on delicate, flowing, and loose clothing articles – whether it be a dress, shirt, or some pants - I just love the sensation of feeling “free”. Which is oddly enough what the ever-trending bohemian style seems to capture, at least if you ask me. Something I find crazier about it is just how flawlessly it seems to intermingle with what summer is – it’s as if they were made for one another.

I can’t wait to see what this summer has in store – new people, new adventures, and of course – new fashion. I just hope summer arrives soon, and if worst comes to worst, an early vacation never hurt anybody anyway!

With Spring on our horizon (less than two weeks away, eep!), I decided to take one last chance to be a stand out contrast against the winter snow. All at the same time, I wanted to incorporate spring colors, hence; the orange lipstick, to celebrate Spring's quickly approaching arrival. With that being said, I can't say the snow will be missed, but I was always a sucker for layering. Thus, while my love affair with Winter Fashion must come to an end, my passion ensues over what this spring has to hold in our trendy world. Mules? Deep violet? Sleeve-less trench coats? We'll just have to stay tuned...
