"She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini..." Does anyone else have that song burned into their memory? I remember the first time hearing that song I instantly felt compelled to go out and buy a yellow polka dot bikini - I was a pretty impressionable child. I guess the same thing holds true to this day, but within a different form of technology - the internet. Just scrolling through my Pinterest feed I see thousands of Spring style and bikini pins and can't help but feel an instant need to own it and for the items to show up in my closet (a girl can dream, right?). Above I posted some of the bikinis I've been falling in love with and looking into purchasing myself, hopefully there's one you find you like up there too!

Au Revoir, Winter

Au Revoir Tee / Blazer (similar here) / Grey Sweatpants (Similar here) / Franco Sarto Oxford Loafers (pictured here as well) / Oscar De La Renta Aviator Sunglasses (similar here)

Hooray, it’s finally Spring! Although, it doesn’t quite feel like it yet with the snow continuing to fall, what gives? As the temperature begins to rise, however; the layers begin to shed and white becomes even more of a closet staple than it was this past winter. And as you can see, I’m a firm believer in the fact that sweatpants are in fact wearable outside of the house *with the right accessories. Personally, as you’ll see in an upcoming post, even pajamas (I can see the look of horror on your faces already!) are wearable outside of the house! I have a simple equation to get you through it – blazer, your raddest shoes, and some sunglasses, a hat or any other simple accents to complete your comfy yet chic looking ensemble. And there you have it! (You’re welcome, ladies).

Currently Craving #3: Spring Hats

Hats are such an overlooked piece of an ensemble, not only are they an accessory but, like sunglasses, they are a finishing touch that can complete a look to its utmost perfection. With this being said, I thought I'd help in the process of finding the perfect "finishing touch" for you, and what better time than before a big trip to purchase one?

A lady can never go wrong with a big, feminine bow - 'Fancy' Bow Hat

Wide brimmed, floppy, AND striped? Need I say more? - Packable Sun Hat

An adorable blast-from-the-past style hat never hurt a women - Hat With Ribbon

Now has anyone ever said standing in was fun? - Cobalt Blue Fedora

None other than the classic cream fedora - Panama Hat

Boat hats and wide-legged pants? Win win - Straw Boater Hat

Personally, I'd buy anything in this gorgeous rusty red - Matador Hat

Beanie-style take on the bohemian turban - Slouchy Beanie

Can you tell I'm infatuated with brimmed hats a little bit? What's YOUR favorite hat style?

Currently Craving #1: Sensible Spring Shoes

Blush Flats  /  Powder Blue Flats  /  White Pointed Toe Flats  /  Leopard Sneakers  /  Black Slingbacks  /  White Loafers  /  Black Loafers

Heels are a beautiful thing. But being a student and all, it's often impractical to wear heels - let alone on a regular basis. When I'm older, I cannot wait to wear heels daily! As for now, however; I have to look for other practical means of getting around, while remaining in style of course! I adore beautifully crafted flats and sandals, so odds are I'll never be caught dead in a pair of flip-flops - my sister has even tried and I won't budge - no flip-flops for me! Thus, here are a few of some of my favorite Spring flats - easy on the eyes, and the wallet! Bear with me as I know the color scheme variations are pretty boring - I still can't find it in my heart to buy a pair of shoes that I will get a minimal amount wear out of!

Monochrome

Kate Spade Trench Coat (Old, similar here) / Tobi Sweater, Sunglasses / Black Skinny Jeans (Old, similar here and here) / Oxford LoafersFashion Faux Pas Socks (we can pretend they're trendy, right?) / Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Electric Orange

With Spring on our horizon (less than two weeks away, eep!), I decided to take one last chance to be a stand out contrast against the winter snow. All at the same time, I wanted to incorporate spring colors, hence; the orange lipstick, to celebrate Spring's quickly approaching arrival. With that being said, I can't say the snow will be missed, but I was always a sucker for layering. Thus, while my love affair with Winter Fashion must come to an end, my passion ensues over what this spring has to hold in our trendy world. Mules? Deep violet? Sleeve-less trench coats? We'll just have to stay tuned...

Spring Break Essentials

Benefit Beauty Gimme Brow / Victoria's Secret Lipstick in Irrisistable / Maybelline Color SensationL Lipstick in Electric Orange worn here / NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu / Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss / Essie Nail Polish in Bikini So Teeny and Muchi Muchi / Sally Hansen Nail Polish in No Hard FeelingsExpress Earrings / The Little Black Book of Style by Nina Garcia / Similar Floral Scarf / Larabars / Vintage Sunnies

With Spring Break already having sprung upon us (punny, no?), and just around the corner for the rest, a post about essentials is essential. In the Spring and Summer I always like to be minimalistic - whether that means wearing fewer layers of clothing or makeup. Today I've compiled a list of what I consider essential - minimal with just the right amount of sass. I love bold brows to give the eyes a pop without any mascara; they help frame the face in astonishing ways. I'm also the girl you'll see wearing no makeup other than a bright, bold lip - but I have good reason! When I was young (first getting into makeup young) I took a trip to ULTA. It was during the summer and I was greeted by a charming young lady, and since I was young she wasn't going to recommend me any over-the-top makeup. What she did tell me, however; sticks with me to this very day, "Sweetheart, a bold lip color would look lovely on you and would bring all the boys at the beach your way," of course after this came, "don't tell your mother I said that". Of course I didn't, but I did listen to her advice - ever since then a bold lip has become my go-to for every occasion. I promise it wasn't all for the boys!
